Reihan Salam
President, Manhattan Institute

Reihan Salam is the president of the Manhattan Institute, a research and advocacy organization focused on promoting opportunity, individual liberty, and the rule of law in America’s urban centers. Prior to joining the Manhattan Institute in 2019, he was the executive editor of National Review and worked on the Op-Ed page of The New York Times and at NBC News. Salam authored Melting Pot or Civil War?, advocating for a skills-based immigration policy, and co-wrote Grand New Party with Ross Douthat, proposing a center-right agenda for bridging the gap with working-class voters. He is a contributing writer at The Atlantic, a contributing editor at National Affairs and National Review, and a life member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
