Marketing and Event Production Associate
About the Opportunity
The Sun Valley Policy Forum seeks a Marketing and Event Production Associate to coordinate the organization’s marketing strategy, brand execution, and event production operations. This role sits at the intersection of communications, creative direction, and live event execution, ensuring that the Forum’s convenings are effectively promoted, professionally produced, and consistently aligned with SVPF’s brand and mission.
The Associate will either directly handle or coordinate with outside vendors to accomplish marketing and event production responsibilities. The position also offers significant opportunity for growth, as the Associate will have the chance to take on increasing responsibility and help shape the Forum’s marketing and event strategy as the organization continues to expand.
The Associate will oversee all marketing campaigns, digital communications, creative design, and public relations efforts while also serving as the lead producer for the Forum’s events and programs. This includes managing event websites, email marketing (with assistance), digital and print collateral, media outreach, and social media strategy, as well as coordinating the production elements that bring SVPF events to life.
This position works closely with senior leadership, including the CEO and COO, as well as external partners such as media outlets, creative vendors, videographers, photographers, and print vendors. The role also collaborates with event staff and partner organizations to ensure cohesive messaging, brand consistency, and seamless event execution.
The position is remote, with periodic travel required for major events and convenings in Sun Valley, Idaho and other locations as needed. Estimated travel: approximately 10–20% for major events and convenings. SVPF has three annual events and two-three floating events annually.
Responsibilities
The Associate will either directly handle or coordinate with outside vendors to accomplish marketing and event production responsibilities, including:

Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies to promote SVPF events and programs and maximize attendance and engagement alongside the senior leadership team.

Advise on the organization’s communications and marketing efforts, including email campaigns, newsletters, social media strategy, and digital promotion
-
Manage public relations initiatives including press releases, media outreach, and relationships with regional and national media outlets alongside COO
-
Oversee the development and maintenance of the SVPF website and event ticketing platforms, including event pages, content updates, and video library management alongside the events operations team.

Create and manage marketing and promotional materials including digital assets, print collateral, event programs, signage, and promotional graphics

Direct branding and visual identity across all SVPF platforms, ensuring consistency across marketing materials, digital communications, and event assets
-
Produce all creative and technical assets required for live events, including slides, program visuals, video content, and speaker materials
-
Oversee on-site event production, including stage management, program timing, audiovisual coordination, and on site speaker preparation alongside COO
-
Coordinate external vendors including videographers, photographers, printers, and production teams, managing budgets, timelines, and deliverables

Manage the distribution of regular email campaigns through Mailchimp, including newsletters, promotional emails, event reminders, and fundraising campaigns alongside the policy team.

Track and analyze marketing campaign performance and prepare periodic reports on engagement and outreach metrics

Maintain and organize SVPF’s digital archive and video library.

Design and produce event materials such as programs, credentials, signage, branded merchandise, and presentation assets alongside the event production team.

Coordinate marketing collaborations with external organizations, venues, and partners to expand reach and awareness alongside executive leadership.

Support event logistics and production planning including seating charts, stage presentations, audiovisual assets, and program flow alongside the event production team.

Contribute to the strategic development and refinement of the SVPF brand and marketing approach
Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes:

2+ years of experience in marketing, communications, event production, or a related field
-
Demonstrated experience managing marketing campaigns across digital platforms including email, social media, and websites
-
Experience producing or coordinating conferences, live events, or public programs
-
Strong writing and editing ability, particularly for marketing copy, press releases, and promotional materials
-
Experience managing creative design and production of digital and print materials
-
Familiarity with marketing analytics and campaign performance tracking
-
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
-
Experience coordinating with vendors and managing external creative or production partners
-
Comfort operating in fast-paced environments and managing live event logistics
-
High attention to detail and commitment to professional quality standards

Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with a small, mission-driven team

Alignment with the mission of organizations advancing economic freedom, free enterprise, and open policy dialogue
Salary and Benefits
The salary range for this position is $45,000–$55,000, commensurate with experience.
