Sun Valley Policy Forum Policy Visiting Fellowship

Location: Remote, with select in-person opportunities

Commitment: Part-time, flexible schedule

Start Date: Position open immediately 

Duration:  6 months 

Stipend: $15,000

 

The Sun Valley Policy Forum, based in the mountain town, Sun Valley, Idaho,   is a fast-growing nonprofit dedicated to fostering serious, high-level discussions on conservative policy and thought leadership. We bring together intellectuals, policymakers, and professionals to drive meaningful conversations and advance principled solutions to today’s most pressing issues.

We are seeking Policy Fellows who are eager to contribute to this mission by conducting rigorous research, producing compelling policy analysis, and engaging with key stakeholders. This is an unparalleled opportunity to be part of an organization on the rise while gaining direct exposure to influential leaders and networks in the policy world.  

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth research on key conservative policy issues, emerging thought leaders, and legislative developments.

  • Write op-eds, white papers, and reports for publication and public discourse.

  • Assist in developing policy briefings and contributing to SVPF’s intellectual output.

  • Engage with policymakers, scholars, and media professionals.

  • Represent SVPF at select in-person events, including our Summer Institute in Sun Valley, Idaho (June 28 – July 3, 2025) and other policy gatherings.

Who Should Apply?

We are looking for sharp, driven, and ambitious individuals who are passionate about conservative policy and thought leadership. The ideal candidate should:

  • Be a recent graduate or early-career professional with a demonstrated commitment to policy research and analysis.

  • Have strong academic credentials in political science, economics, law, public policy, or a related field.

  • Possess exceptional writing and research skills, with the ability to synthesize complex ideas into clear, persuasive arguments.

  • Be eager to engage in high-level policy discussions and contribute to an expanding nonprofit

Fellowship Benefits:

  • Travel and networking opportunities, including access to SVPF’s Summer Institute in Sun Valley, Idaho.

  • Direct engagement with thought leaders, policymakers, and industry professionals.

  • Hands-on experience in shaping policy conversations and contributing to an emerging voice in the movement.

Sun Valley Policy Forum Summer Internship Program

Internship Duration: May 15 – August 19, 2025 (Flexible start/end dates)

Location: Remote, with an exciting no cost, opportunity to join us in Sun Valley, Idaho for one week (June 28 – July 3, 2025) at our Summer Institute.

 

About the Sun Valley Policy Forum: The Sun Valley Policy Forum (SVPF) is at the forefront of transforming public policy discussions. We bring together some of the brightest minds—policymakers, thought leaders, and advocates—to spark change and shape the future. As a growing nonprofit, SVPF offers a unique opportunity for interns to be part of our expanding mission and contribute to meaningful projects that influence policy and the public discourse.

Internship Roles Available:

We are seeking passionate and driven interns to join us in the following departments:

  • Operations: Be the backbone of our organization! Help manage logistics, scheduling, internal communications, and support essential operations that keep everything running smoothly.

  • Development/Patron Support: Play a key role in expanding our reach by assisting with donor communication, fundraising campaigns, and relationship-building with key stakeholders.

  • Business: Dive into the strategic side of our organization—help us grow partnerships, fine-tune financial operations, and drive our business development alongside the Operations team.

  • Marketing/Social Media: Help amplify our voice! Create engaging content, manage our social media presence, and support our branding and advertising efforts to increase visibility and impact.

  • Policy: Assist in researching emerging thought leaders, analyzing policies, and contributing to the development of new initiatives that push the boundaries of public discourse.

  • Writing: Have a knack for storytelling? Help us craft articles, reports, blog posts, and more that capture the essence of the important work we're doing.

  • Event Planning: Be part of the action! Support the organization and execution of our Summer Institute and other events, handling logistics, vendor coordination, and scheduling to ensure everything runs seamlessly.

 

Qualifications:

We are looking for individuals who are driven, adaptable, and ready to roll up their sleeves and contribute to a growing nonprofit. You don’t need to have all the answers—just a passion for learning, a strong work ethic, and a desire to be part of something bigger.

  • Grit and tenacity, with a go-getter mentality

  • Strong interest in policy, nonprofit development, or event planning

  • Familiarity with social media and content creation is a plus

  • Eagerness to learn, collaborate, and make a real impact

Interns will gain hands-on experience across key areas of our organization, contributing to projects that drive real change. You’ll also have the opportunity to attend our Sun Valley Policy Forum Summer Institute, where you'll assist in running one of our flagship events (June 28 – July 3, 2025), gaining insight into high-level policy discussions and event management.
